Fred Mccoy

PASTOR

Fred has been at Houston Lake Baptist Church since July of 2006. He has served  in three churches as the pastor, and as a full time Evangelist with over 400 Revivals in 18 different states. He has also been to the former Soviet Union, specifically Moldova, eight times on soul-winning missions and to Cuba and Guatemala on a mission trip also.   


In Denominational life, he has served on the Committee on Nominations of the Southern Baptist Convention. In the Georgia Baptist Convention, Fred has served as Vice-President and on the Executive Committee and Administration Committees.


Fred has been married to his wife Jackie since 1981. Jackie is employed at Cornerstone Medical Management.  They have one son, Micah, who is living in Juneau, Alaska and is employed with the Juneau Police Department as an E911 dispatcher. 


Leon Morrison

Minister of Music

Our Music Minister Leon Morrison joined our Church and Staff at Houston Lake Baptist Church on September 22, 2024.

 

Originally from Soperton, GA, Leon trusted Jesus as his personal Savior in 1974.


Leon's musical background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the Baptist University of Florida and numerous years of experience as a Music Minister.


Currently Leon lives in Perry, GA and is employed at the GA Dept of Labor.


Jon Peacock

yOUTH mINISTER

Jon began volunteering as a lay minister in 2013, after joining HLBC in 2012.  


A native of Eastman, Georgia, Jon is a graduate of Georgia Southern University. He has served on three Moldova mission trips, at the Georgia National Fair Tent Ministry, as a Sunday school teacher and as HLBC Treasurer.  


Prior to serving at HLBC, Jon was a Special Agent for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for five years, working on nearly 400 criminal cases as a crime scene specialist and in drug enforcement.  He also served as a patrol leader in an infantry unit in the US Army during Operation Iraqi Freedom.  


Jon enjoys college football, Braves baseball, and coaches Dixie Youth baseball. He is married to Erin Waldrep Peacock, a native of Forsyth, Georgia and pharmacist in Perry.  They have two children, Zach and Kara.
